Southern Rustic Candle Co. wasn’t born from a business plan. There was no spreadsheet, no strategy session — just a woman on her knees, holding on to the only One who hadn’t let her go.
Grief has a way of stripping everything down to what’s real. After walking through loss, heartbreak, and the quiet devastation of a life that looked nothing like I’d planned, I found myself searching for something to hold onto. Something to do with my hands. Something that made the days feel survivable.
I believe God led me to candle-making. Not because it was on my radar — it wasn’t. But because He knows us better than we know ourselves, and sometimes healing comes in the most unexpected forms. A little wax, a little fragrance, and suddenly I had a reason to get up. A reason to create. A reason to keep going.
What started as something just between me and God slowly became something I couldn’t keep to myself. There’s something sacred about a flickering flame — it’s warmth, it’s presence, it’s the reminder that even in the darkest rooms, light finds a way.
People started to feel it in what I made. That peace. That intention. And Southern Rustic Candle Co. became real — not because I built it, but because I believe He did.
Every candle is still hand-poured in small batches right here in southern Alabama, with premium coconut apricot wax and fragrances chosen with care. But more than anything, each one carries a little piece of the journey that brought me here — the hard days, the faithful mornings, and the grace that carried me through both.
